Maputo launches today a housing project of almost six thousand houses for young people

Maputo lança hoje um projecto imobiliário de quase seis mil casas para jovens

The city of Maputo will today witness the launch of a housing project to build just over 5,700 homes for young people.

The event will be chaired by President of the Republic, Daniel Chapo, in the Costa do Sol district, where the plan will be implemented, in an area of around 24 hectares.

The project also includes road infrastructure, a water distribution system, energy, drainage, rainwater collection and sanitation.

A note from the Presidency of the Republic states that this is the materialization of a partnership between the government and private sector partners. The aim is to provide quality housing for the Mozambican population.

During the event, the details of the project will be presented, which aims to meet the growing demand for adequate and sustainable housing, as well as promoting socio-economic development, the note concludes.

The cost of building the project has yet to be disclosed, as well as the cost of rents for the target audience.
