More than 300,000 tourists visited Inhambane in 2023

Mais de 300 mil turistas visitaram Inhambane em 2023

Inhambane province received more than 300,000 tourists from all over the world in 2023, according to the Provincial Director of Culture and Tourism, Emídio Nhantumbo.

He recently presented this information to the Governor, Daniel Chapo, who recommended that the sector make more efforts to continue attracting visitors.

During a visit to the Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism, Chapo expressed his satisfaction with the reconstruction of the regional museum, the library and the Cultural House, which had been destroyed by cyclone Dineo in 2017.

Notícias recalls that this year Inhambane intends to license 40 more tourist developments, compared to 32 in 2023, in order to increase accommodation and restaurant capacity.

The projects, which have already been submitted for evaluation, are valued at 541 million meticais.

Currently, Inhambane has around 8,300 rooms and 14,560 beds.

Meanwhile, work is underway to find more investors for the tourism sector in Inhambane.
