Inditex's profit reaches 80% in Q1

Lucro da Inditex atinge 80% no 1.º trimestre

Inditex, the group that includes brands such as Zara and Pull & Bear, had a profit of 760 million euros in the first quarter of the fiscal year (February to April), up 80% compared to the same period last year, advances a portal of News to the Minute, citing the company's statement.

According to the same statement, the net income figure achieved by the group in the first three months of this fiscal year exceeds that of the first quarter of 2019, prior to the covid-19 pandemic impact, when it booked €734 million.

Without the provision made because of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, the net result would have been 940 million in the first quarter ended in April of this year.

Group sales reached 6,742 million euros in the period under review, which represents a year-on-year increase of 36%.

Gross operating income (EBITDA), meanwhile, grew by 551TP2Q in the first quarter to €1,917 million.
