Lack of port makes exporting heavy sands from Chibuto more expensive

Inexistência de porto encarece exportação de areias pesadas de Chibuto

Exporting heavy sands from Chibuto, in Gaza province, to the international market is a costly process for the company Dingsheng Minerals due to the lack of an outlet port.

To export its production, the company uses the nearest port, Maputo, and has to bear the logistics costs, as well as the distance to travel.

The Minister of Industry and Trade, Silvino Moreno, visited the company and encouraged it to quickly find innovative solutions.

He suggested that the company build its own exclusive structure to transport its production, assuring that the government will support its construction.

From the perspective of the governor, quoted by NewsThe infrastructure could strengthen the company's position on the international market.

On the other hand, Moreno encouraged the company to process the raw material in-house instead of exporting it raw, hoping that this would promote local employment.
