The Hydroelectric of Cahora Bassa (HCB), announced today, the achievement of the goal set for this year, when it reached, on Tuesday, the annual goal of hydro-energy production set at 14,125.53 GWh.
The reservoir stored about 97% of water at its useful capacity, which translated into sufficient water quantity for energy production in 2021, thanks to the weather conditions.
HCB now has a margin of time to exceed the planned target by the end of the year, the deadline for achieving this goal.
"If all conditions are maintained, the way is open for the planned production to be exceeded by a little more than 6% on December 31, 2021," predicted the Chairperson of the HCB Board of Directors, Boavinda Muhambe, quoted in a communiqué sent to our editorial office.
According to the document, the institution will thus be able to raise more capital gains, direct more revenue to the state, and contribute significantly to the national economy.
The company assures that the capacity of the dam is created for the 2021/22 rainy season. "At this moment the quota of the Cahora Bassa reservoir is in the order of 320m.
