Tiger Group invests USD 2.4 Million in Fueling Station

Tiger Group inaugurated, at the beginning of the week, a gas station in KaTembe district, in Maputo city. This venture cost about 2.4 million dollars and generated 112 jobs for young people in the region.

On the occasion KaTembe's municipal councilman, Celso Fulano, said that the initiative is a reflection of the good prospects that investments in Katembe can benefit the local communities.

"The constriction of the pump, which serves as a billboard of the district, will allow the entry of more investments, since tourists, merchants, public and private institutions, were forced to fill up in other points of the city of Maputo," said Fulano, having stressed that the investment contributes to the economic development of KaTembe.

The infrastructure includes a convenience store, supermarket, restaurant, shopping mall, garage for washing cars (carwash), a storefront for selling vehicles, a hardware storefront for building material, among others.

And, according to the group's manager, Dinah Pereira, it is expected that a municipal revenue collection office, a school, a hospital, and a police station will be built in the same area. The area's needs were the main factors that led to the decision to invest in the area.

"We are aware that the services provided are a great contribution to the district and provincial economy, with emphasis on tourism," he concluded.
