Government challenges new ANAC managers to improve biodiversity conservation mechanisms

Governo desafia novos gestores da ANAC a aprimorarem mecanismos de conservação da biodiversidade

The Prime Minister, Adriano Maleiane, demanded today, Wednesday (23), that the new managers of the National Administration of Conservation Areas (ANAC) expand and consolidate the national nature protection network in order to achieve the national targets and international commitments.

These recommendations were made during the inauguration of the director-general and deputy director of ANAC, Pejul Calange and Severiano Khoy, respectively.

According to the governor, the new managers must also improve the mechanisms for preventing and combating illegal mining, hunting and logging practices.

"We hope that ANAC will increasingly improve actions that contribute to protecting the environment and preserving nature, as well as preventing and reducing conflict between man and wildlife," said Maleiane.

According to the government official, in order to succeed in the mission entrusted to them, they must be guided by teamwork, good management of public affairs and permanent dialogue with all those involved in the process of managing, preserving and conserving biodiversity.
