Government considers that the International conference "Growing Blue" produced the expected results

Governo considera que a conferência Internacional “Crescendo Azul” produziu resultados esperados

Government reveals that the second edition of the International "Blue Crescendo" Conference produced the expected results in the framework of ocean preservation and the creation of the blue economy.

According to the Minister of Sea, Inland Waters and Fisheries, Augusta Maíta, the sharing of experiences from other countries in the sustainable use of the oceans, allied to the local reality in this component, will contribute for Mozambique to achieve the intended purposes.

"We therefore want, in parallel to the great new uses of the sea, fishing, especially small-scale fishing, aimed at the population, to continue with its role as a catalyst for the family economy, because it is in this way that we will achieve the development and well-being of our communities," said the governor at the close of the conference last Friday in Vilankulo, Inhambane province.

Augusta Maíta also said that it is the government's expectation that with the contributions from these two-day debates, the elaboration of the Blue Economy Development Strategy and the respective Action Plan can be finalized and "from there, a concrete mechanism for financing the strategy can be put into perspective, based on the commitments made here.
