Mozambican left-winger Geny Catamo, 22, a member of Sporting Portugal, was voted the fourth best player in the qualifying round for the African Nations Championship (CAN).

The advanced midfielder scored 7.53 points above Egypt's Mohamed Salah, who rounds off the top five with 7.48 points, according to the Sofascore ranking, cited by The Country.

In the top five, the Mozambican finished below the Nigerian duo Victor Osimhen, with 8.18 points and Sadio Mané with 8.10 points, and the Burkinabe, Dango Ouattara, with 7.76 points.

During the campaign, Geny scored two goals for the Mozambican national team, one against Benin and the other against Rwanda, and even provided two assists against these two teams in different matches.
