The volume of Mozambique's exports to the European Union (EU) reached 5.3 billion dollars against 4.19 billion dollars of imports in the period between 2020 and 2024..
The information was released this Monday (17) in Maputo by the Minister of Economy, Basílio Muhate, who pointed out that the EU is currently top of the list of Mozambique's biggest trading partners.
According to Basílio Muhate, during the first edition of European Networking, which brought together the Chambers of Commerce of Mozambique, Europe, the Confederation of Economic Associations of Mozambique (CTA), European Mozambican businesspeople and other guests, the Mozambican Executive recognizes the efforts of European businesspeople and others in creating jobs in the country.
"This highlights the European Union's role as our largest multilateral trading partner," he added, encouraging European businesspeople to always work together with national institutions to support investment, business development and foreign trade, taking into account their role in the country's ongoing reform process.
The European Union ambassador accredited to Mozambique, Antonino Maggiore, stressed that everyone's mission is to work with all the country's forces in order to accompany reforms and development.
"As the European Union, we are ready to support these reforms, the Mozambique-EU partnership is very deep and cooperation with the private sector is fundamental to our overall strategy, based on the concept of connectivity," Magiore reiterated.
