The Confederation of Mozambican Economic Associations (CTA) says that the VAT exemption for sugar, soap and cooking oil contributes to the stability and reduction of consumer prices for these products.

The CTA reacted yesterday at a press conference to clarify information circulating that the VAT exemption for the three products, considered essentials, is not having a positive effect on the final consumer.

According to the representative of the Association of Oil and Soap Industries, João Matlombe, without the VAT exemption, the products in question would be more expensive.
