Elon Musk argues it's time for Trump to retire

Elon Musk defende que chegou o momento de Trump reformar-se

Tension between Tesla CEO Elon Musk and former U.S. President Donald Trump is running high, with words exchanged after Trump spoke about Musk at a rally on Saturday in Anchorage.

Following Trump's comment that Musk was "another crook," the Tesla creator responded that it was "time for former President Donald Trump to "hang up his hat and walk off into the sunset."

"I don't hate this man, but it's time for Trump to hang up his hat and walk off into the sunset. Democrats should call off the attack too - don't make it Trump's only way to survive is to regain the presidency," Musk wrote on Twitter, in a post responding to "Breitbart News" and quoted by the Economic Journal.

At the rally, Trump also said that Musk personally told him that he voted for him in 2016. For his part, Musk denies that he voted for Trump. Trump's statement also contradicts comments Musk made at a technology conference in Miami in May, where the Tesla CEO said he has voted for Democrats in the past and that he "may never have voted for a Republican."

At the same time, in another publication, Musk felt that there should be a "maximum legal age" of 69 for those who begin presidential terms.

Trump, who is 76 years old and has been preparing for a presidential run in the 2024 election. Recall that the former president was 70 years old at the time of his inauguration in 2017.

On Sunday, Trump wrote on his Truth Social social network that "life begins at 80." "President Biden is one of the oldest 79-year-olds in history, but by himself, he is not an old man," Trump wrote. "There are many people in their 80s and even 90s who are as good as ever. Biden is not one of them, but it has little to do with his age. In fact, life begins at 80."
