The South Korean government will soon send a patrol boat to Mozambique to protect the South Coral Floating Platform in the Rovuma basin.

The fact was announced in Nairobi by the special envoy of the President of the Asian country, Byoung-Gug Choung, after an audience granted by the Mozambican Head of State, on the sidelines of the investiture program of the new President-elect of Kenya, William Ruto.

Speaking to Mozambican journalists, Byoung-Gug Choung explained that the vessel will also allow for the maintenance and operation of the platform.

The floating platform, manufactured in South Korea and which arrived in Mozambique in January of this year, is the most modern in the world in liquefied natural gas production. It is also the first in the region and the only one in the world to pull gas from deep waters.
