CDD files criminal complaint against PRM for the murder of three citizens

CDD submete queixa-crime contra PRM pelo assassinato de três cidadãos

Yesterday, the Center for Democracy and Human Rights submitted a criminal complaint to the Maputo Provincial Prosecutor's Office against the Police of the Republic of Mozambique (PRM) for the murder of three young people on January 15 in the Machava Socimol neighborhood.

According to André Mulugo of the CDD, the victims, two young men and a teenager, were murdered in the early hours of the morning on the day Daniel Chapo took office as President of the Republic.

"They were leaving a pasture house. The police questioned the two young men and the teenager and, for no apparent reason, fired 32 bullets, which led to the death of these three young men," he said.

The activist explained that the CDD's intervention in the case is aimed at holding the PRM to account and ensuring that justice is done for the victims' families.

"There must be justice for these people and their families," he said, stressing that the fight "will go right up to the last consequences".
