Câmara de Comércio de Moçambique defende mais investimentos na indústria de processamento

Last Thursday (18) in Nampula, in the north of the country, the President of the Mozambican Chamber of Commerce called on the business sector and various partners to become more dynamic in promoting production and the micro, small and medium processing industry in order to meet the challenges of development.

Speaking during the Business Forum, organized by the Government and the Chamber of Commerce of Mozambique, on the theme: "Potentialities of Nampula province, Towards Integrated and Sustainable Development", Álvaro Massingue stressed the need to promote agricultural potential in order to obtain greater gains, with a view to leveraging the country's economy.

"We propose an approach centered on developing and making better use of the business and industrial potential that exists in the production of tubers such as manioc, peanuts, beans, and fruits such as cashews and their nuts for their high commercial value and appreciation on national and international markets," said Massingue.

On the occasion, the Secretary of State of Nampula, Jaime Neto, demanded that small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) pay more attention to the preparation, certification and quality of locally produced food products, with a view to conquering the national and international markets.

According to the minister, "the financing of trade services is of great importance for the better health of business initiatives".
