The Industrial Association of Mozambique (AIMO) argues that megaprojects should boost the development of local industries and improve the lives of communities, as long as they operate in the country.
The position was presented last Friday (14) at a meeting between AIMO and the Minister of Economy, during which the association asked for more access to funding.
In a note quoted by the newspaper "The Country" At the meeting, the association forcefully addressed the challenges facing the industry, including regulatory barriers, poor infrastructure and the urgent need to modernize technology and processes.
At the meeting, AIMO also emphasized the need to create more sources of funding to allow local industries to expand and modernize their operations.
"The president of AIMO, Rogério Samo Gudo, called for the creation of conditions that favor the granting of credit, as well as policies that encourage the attraction of private and international investment in the sector," reads the document.
For his part, Basílio Muhate, alongside his team, emphasized that the government is committed to unreservedly supporting efforts to boost innovation, sustainability and the strengthening of local industries.
