Angola wants to finance 500 projects for the diversification of the economy

About 500 projects of the support program for the diversification of the economy and exports from Angola will benefit from government funding with the aim of reconverting the country's informal economy, an action that should start as early as April this year, said Tuesday in Luanda, the Secretary of State for the Angolan Economy, Dalva Ringote.

These 500 projects, which are part of the 1,022 approved in 2021, in the scope of the Program of Support to Production, Export Diversification and Import Substitution (Prodesi) already have anticipated guarantees of access to credit, totaling 743 billion kwanzas, for their implementation.

On the occasion, the official listed the objectives that are intended to be achieved with the implementation of the (Prodesi) and the Program for the Reconversion of the Informal Economy (PREI).

Dalva Ringote stressed that access to funding will be monitored in order to ensure that financial resources are allocated to the identified projects.

The secretary of state said that there is also the prospect of disbursing a second tranche of approximately two billion kwanzas through the Angolan Active Risk Capital Fund (FACRA), aimed at small and medium enterprises, entrepreneurs and micro-credit operators, with the expectation of financing another 1,683 projects, the same as in 2021, benefiting mostly young people and women.
