The Mozambican Football Federation (FMF) presented, this Tuesday, in Maputo, Chiquinho Conde as the new National Football Team (Mambas) coach to replace the Portuguese Horácio Gonçalves, who was fired from his position a little over a week ago following poor results.
Chiquinho Conde, who was flattered by the FMF's invitation, will also command the technical bench of the Under-19 National Team, Mambinhas.
The commitment of the new national team coach is more than a professional mission, but a patriotic one before a people thirsty for great victories.
"I want to bring that hope and ability to be able to convey a whole pride and satisfaction of representing a national team," said Chiquinho Conde, during his presentation, at FMF.
In this context, Conde's idea is to play each game as if it were a last fight.
Chiquinho Conde represented Sporting Clube de Portugal, Belenenses Sporting de Braga and Vitória de Setúbal, a club where he also had his first experience as a coach in Portugal. In Mozambique Chiquinho commanded the technical bank of Maxaquene, Desportivo Maputo, Ferroviário, Vilankulo and União Desportiva do Songo.
Recall that in 2010 he led the Mambas to a friendly.
The 55-year-old coach's contract is valid for two years, until 2023.
