SISE agents threaten journalists in Nacala-à-Velha

Agentes do SISE ameaçam Jornalistas em Nacala-à-Velha

Journalists from Rádio Comunitária Ehale, in Nacala-à-Velha, are being threatened by agents from the State Information and Security Services (SISE) and other police forces.

The threats come allegedly because they reported that some Frelimo party secretaries were passing on declarations and nominal lists of supposed party members in order to facilitate their registration or obtain voter registration cards.

The threats took place yesterday (18.04) when the journalists were on the ground collecting daily information, recording videos and photographs for their radio newspaper and virtual TV.

It was the secretaries of the neighborhoods, on espionage duty for Frelimo, who contacted the district command, informing it that those journalists were disturbing the voter registration process at the station in the town of Coutinho.

The journalists were taken to the district command, where they were forced to delete all photos and recordings. (CIP Elections)
