The hope of the excluded must not die - Manuel de Araújo

A esperança dos excluídos não deve morrer – Manuel de Araújo

The mayor of Quelimane, Manuel de Araújo, believes that the decisions taken at Renamo's 6th National Council should not annihilate the pretensions of party members to important positions.

In an interview with Success TV around whether or not some members of the party should be invited to the meeting, he recalled that he had been elected to be a member of the National Council among other candidates with no requirements to do so.

On that occasion, in the mountains of Gorongosa, Sofala province, Renamo President Ossufo Momade himself, enjoying his sovereignty at the Renamo Congress, allowed candidates without requirements to run for membership of the National Council.

With this, D'Araújo raised the possibility that Venâncio Mondlane could run for the presidency of Renamo.

"It was President Ossufo Momade himself who instructed the removal of these requirements to allow any and all Renamo members to run, and they did. This strengthened the Renamo family and we all won. Who knows if the same thing will happen this time," he said, stressing that "the hopes of those who find themselves excluded should not die".
