Native Young performs today at FFLC

The Native Young project is an indie afro-folk collective of four members of different nationalities, and will perform this Friday, 6 pm, at the Fernando Leite Couto Foundation (FFLC), in Maputo city.

According to a note from FFLC, "it will be an intimate session fusing anthemic uplifting vocals, indie, electronic music and pure African rhythms in an experience with performers who understand music as an expression only ephemeral in appearance, as it connects us all and generates a sincere glow of humanity."

Native Young is the brainchild of Yannick Meyer, a producer and composer from Cape Town, South Africa. With the project Meyer seeks to bring to the public a symbiosis of sounds, rhythms, and cultures from different parts of the world. As if you couldn't tell what might come of it, Meyer calls his peculiar style "Kasi Pop".
