Government approves proposal for the Economic and Social Plan Law and State Budget for 2022

The Government approved this Thursday the draft Economic and Social Plan and State Budget Law (PESOE) for 2022, to be submitted to Parliament.

The PESOE defines the main economic and social and financial policy objectives of the State, identifies the forecast of revenues to be collected, the actions and resources necessary for the implementation of the Program and Plan, in a time horizon of one year, aiming at the materialization of the Five-Year Government Program (PQG) 2020-2024.

According to data from the Council of Ministers meeting in its 5th Extraordinary Session, this Thursday, for the year 2022 the country expects to reach a GDP growth of 2.9% and maintain the average annual inflation rate at around 5.3%.

In light of the same approved proposal, for 2022 it is foreseen to reach the value of 5,203.0 million dollars, in exports of goods;

State revenues will be around 293,102.5 million meticais, or 26.1% of GDP.

According to the document, State expenditures in 2022 could be 450,576.8 million meticals, equivalent to 40.1% of GDP, and the Budget Deficit could be 157,474.3 million meticals, equivalent to 14% of GDP.
