Maputo International Fair opens this Monday

The Maputo International Fair (FACIM), the largest business and enterprise sample, will take place from August 30th to September 5th, in virtual and in-person format, due to the limitations imposed by covid-19the organization announced on Friday.

The director of the Investment and Export Promotion Agency (Apiex), Gil Bires, told Rádio Moçambique that 250 national exhibitors and 24 countries will be present at this year's edition of FACIM.

The national exhibitors will be present in the fairground and the foreign ones will participate, virtually, through spaces that the organization has created for this purpose.

"Given the situation created by the pandemic, 250 national exhibitors on the fairgrounds is a number that fits the circumstances perfectly," said Gil Bires.

The site is expected to be visited by 700 people a day, and by 10,000 virtually, he added.

To prevent the new coronavirus, admission tickets for visitors are being sold through digital platforms and exhibition spaces have been increased.

"We have increased the size of the 'stands' from nine square meters to 18 square meters each," he explained.

The President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, will be present at the inauguration of this year's edition of FACIM and the Prime Minister will participate in the closing ceremony.

The event will take place under the motto "Industrialization, Innovation, and Diversification of the Economy.
