The Kingdom of Norway on Friday donated more than $3 million to the World Food Program, WFP, in Mozambique.
The support results from a cooperation agreement, signed Friday in Maputo, by WFP and the Norwegian Embassy.
WFP-Mozambique's interim representative, Pierre Lucas, explained that the initiative aims to continue supporting internally displaced people in Cabo Delgado and to provide livelihood opportunities to host communities in that province.
The Chargé d'Affaires at the Norwegian Embassy, Tom Eriksen, said he hoped the support would translate into improved livelihoods for the people in Cabo Delgado.
The initiative will benefit eight hundred thousand people in that part of the country.
