More than two thousand workers from various branches of activity in Sofala province have been fired from their jobs this year due to the economic crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Most of the companies that have declared bankruptcy are from the industrial and commercial sectors, according to the president of the Public Administration and Local Government Commission of the Portuguese Parliament.
According to Francisco Mucanheia, despite the pandemic crisis, the overall production of Sofala province registered in the first six months an increase of one point six percent.

In Sofala province the members of the commission for public administration and local government of the assembly of the republic will work in the districts of Beira, Dondo and Nhamatanda.
