Rehabilitation work begins in a few days on 43 public infrastructures destroyed by cyclones Idai and Kennethin the central and northern regions of the country.

Financed by the World Bank to the tune of about 70 million dollars, the works include sanitary units, schools, bridges, and access roads, among other infrastructures.

The executive director of the Post-Cyclone Reconstruction Office, Luís Mandlate, said that priority will be given to the districts of Búzi and Nhamatanda, because they were the hardest hit by the cyclonic winds. 

According to the administrators of the districts of Nhamatanda and Búzi, Tomé José and Maria Bernardete Roque, respectively, the rehabilitation of public infrastructure damaged by cyclone Idai will have a direct impact on the lives of the population.

In Sofala province, the post-cyclone Idai reconstruction process will initially cover 15 homes.
