Unknown assailants, still at large, shot Joel Amaral, commonly known as MC Trufafa, on Sunday afternoon (13) in the Benedito Mussa area, on the outskirts of the municipality of Quelimane.

Amaral was shot three times and then taken to a health unit in the city of Quelimane for medical treatment.

It is presumed that MC Trufafa was shot by the death squads who have superior orders to liquidate anyone who thinks differently.

For its part, the Republic of Mozambique Police (PRM), in Zambezia province, confirmed that a group of unknown assailants shot Joel Amaral, and said that a team had already been deployed to investigate the circumstances of the crime and identify and hold those involved responsible.

It should be noted that Joel Amaral made a name for himself during Renamo's marches to demand electoral truth in the Municipal Elections, held in October 2023, and in last year's General Elections he allied himself with Venâncio Mondlane and PODEMOS.
