The city of Beira, capital of Sofala province in central Mozambique, has had the international mobility technology service platform Yango since Tuesday (10).. This is the first venture of this international digital cab company to operate in Africa, after its consolidation a year and a half ago in the country's capital, especially in the cities of Maputo and Matola.
Through this platform, Beira's residents can now enjoy agile, economical and safe transportation, simply by downloading the app and choosing one of the available ways to get around: Motorcycle, Txopela and Car. And for local drivers and transport operators, Yango brings an innovative business model that enables high incomes and strong business growth.
Meanwhile, Yango's general manager in Mozambique, Zameer Adam, assured that the arrival of this technological service in the city of Beira will help modernize the city's transport industry, noting the "great reception of the city council to the initiative". "Less than a year and a half after arriving in Mozambique, Yango is already in three of Mozambique's largest cities. Just as we did in Maputo and Matola, here we will also establish strategic partnerships with the community and local entities, as a way of always guaranteeing accessible and safe transportation for everyone in Beira," said Zameer Adam.
According to him, to start operations in Beira, Yango has partnered with four local transport companies, which are guaranteeing the expected demand. "In recent weeks, the partner drivers have received training on the app, which will enable them to meet the quality requirements and use the latest technology available to maximize their income," he said.
