The mining company Vale Moçambique invests around 1.2 million dollars in public infrastructure for livestock development in the Moatize district of Tete. The project will benefit the communities of this district, which develop cattle ranching in the vicinity of the Mining Concession Area.
The infrastructure will be built in about 18 months and the management and maintenance will pass to the government of Moatize. The space will also include water holes, cisterns, feeding and drinking troughs, a rural pharmacy for the sale of livestock medicines, ramps for loading and unloading animals, and a treatment sleeve for disease control.
In a first phase, will benefit about 120 cattle, goat and pig farmers of the neighborhoods 1º de Maio, Bagamoio and Nhanchere, District of Moatize. The area of Catete, pointed out by the government, is a state reserve area of about 500 hectares, destined exclusively for livestock development, where conditions will be created for cattle breeders, in Moatize.
The project also provides cattle farmers with professional technical and sanitary assistance for their animals, in a partnership between Vale and the Government.
This is one more initiative that the mining company Vale Moçambique is implementing in Moatize, in order to honor its commitments to local communities, contributing to the socio-economic development of the populations.
