Sporting coach and Chiquinho Conde heap praise on Geny Catamo and club can raise €600k on Mozambican star's pass

Treinador do Sporting e Chiquinho Conde rasgam elogios a Geny Catamo e clube pode aumentar 600 mil euros no passe do craque moçambicano

The Sporting Clube de Portugal coach was full of praise for Mozambican player Geny Catamo who, thanks to his recent displays in training and matches, is starting to earn a place in the first team.

The fact is that, in the lions' last game against Villarreal, when they won 3-0, the 22-year-old Mozambican, despite coming on in the last half of the game, was a key player in sealing the victory after an assist that shows his talent.

At the end of Sunday's match, Rúben Amorim highlighted the performance and display of the Mozambican left-winger, stressing that he had gained confidence in training and that if he and Eduardo Quaresma "chose to play, I'm here to make them grow".

In Portuga, there are rumors that the green and white club will increase the value of the Mozambican's pass by more than 600 thousand euros. While the club doesn't confirm or deny the information, Geny is deserving of more praise.

Chiquinho Conde, coach of the Mozambican national team, revealed to the portal The Ball that Geny Catamo was Maxaquene's "Messi" at the beginning of his journey on the pitch.

The Mozambique coach just hopes that injuries don't plague Geny. "Last season he played a game here against Benin in which he was in top form, but then he went to Sporting for pre-season and was unlucky enough to get injured, which delayed his integration. He missed half the season and ended up on loan at Marítimo. My wish is that he doesn't get hurt again, not least because at 22 he's at an important stage of development," he said.
