The company Silos e Terminal Graneleiro da Matola (STEMA), located in Maputo province, expects to invest about 14 million dollars to rehabilitate its equipment in order to increase grain storage capacity.
It regrets, however, the fact that it resents the debt incurred with the national bank.
"For the fulfillment of this goal we will turn to the bank and our partners. The debt is sustainable, because we are managing to pay. At this moment, we have 27 silos with a total capacity of 45 thousand tons, fitting about 1,700 for each silo," announced the president of the Board of Directors of STEMA, Arlindo Chilundo, in a press conference, minutes after the end of a visit of the Planning and Budget Commission of the Assembly of the Republic to that company.
However, Chilundo assures that even at the current stage the company still has enough space to meet the demand for the volume of grain imports from mills in the southern region of the country.
