State business sector collects 7 billion meticais

The state's business sector collected nearly 7 billion meticais for the state coffers.

According to the President of IGEPE's Board of Directors, Ana Senda Conai, the amount results from the consolidation of the state-sponsored companies that are being restructured.

Speaking this Monday, in Maputo, at the international colloquium on the state business sector, Ana Senda Conai explained that, among several reforms, IGEPE has introduced a corporate governance model, adequate to international models.

Anabela Senda explained that the financial restructuring process of some state companies is currently underway, such as Linhas Aéreas de Moçambique, Electricidade de Moçambique, Petromoc, and Tmcel.

According to IGEPE's PCA some challenges prevail in the management of the companies in the state sector.

The rector of the Eduardo Mondlane University, Orlando Quilambo, said on the occasion that the business sector in the state represents a fertile research field that can benefit from many studies for the good of society.
