The ministers of Land and Environment, Ivete Maibaze and Culture and Tourism, Eldevina Materula, are chairing today (18) the virtual joint meeting of the ministers responsible for environment, natural resources and tourism of the Southern African Development Community countries (SADC).
According to a note, the meeting aims to assess compliance with the recommendations of the last meeting held on October 25, 2019, in Arusha, Tanzania.
The release adds that actions taken by member states in the areas of environment, climate change, forests and wildlife, conservation areas, and tourism will be verified.
The event is preceded by the meeting of senior officials from SADC member states.
Mozambique takes over the presidency of the regional organization from August 17, 2020.
