Riportico, a Portuguese engineering consulting firm, will supervise the construction work of the model homes, resettlement houses and associated infrastructure included in the Temane Regional Transmission Project (TTP).
This is one of the country's most significant investments in the energy sector ($506 million), and is located between Vilanculos and Maputo.
According to the dinheiro vivo website the project in question is financed by the World Bank and aims to supply electricity to the city of Maputo from the Temane power plants.
For this, a 561-kilometer overhead transmission line will be built at 400 kilovolts, in addition to three new substations in Vilanculos, Chibuto, and Matalane, and the expansion of the Maputo substation.
Carlos Vieira, Riportico's country manager in Mozambique, stresses that "this contract is further proof of the place that Riportico is cementing in the countries where it operates, particularly in Mozambique.
It also confirms that our vision and strategy in the Mozambican market are a consolidated reality. Vieira also refers that "despite the challenges of covid-19 and other destabilizing events in the country, Mozambique remains a market of great potential, and it is a priority for Riportico to continue to consolidate itself in this market.
Davide Borges, Riportico's manager, says that the signing of this and other contracts in the PALOP countries cements Riportico's position as a national and international reference consulting firm.
It is known that the contract was awarded by the National Energy Transportation Company.
