The Road Network of Mozambique (REVIMO) announced on Tuesday that toll fees for the Maputo Ring Road will begin to be collected for circulation along the road on February 1, 2022.
The statement by REVIMO, to which we had access today, contradicts the information published in the Bulletin of the Republic (BR) First Series-Number 10, of Friday, January 14, 2022, according to which the collection of toll fees for the Costa do Sol, Zintava, Cumbeza and Matola-Gare toll roads, on the road in reference, would begin on January 25, 2022. Contacted by MZNews, Revimo's Sales Technician, Idila Abdul, clarified that this day, January 25, 2022, is within the period from which the company will be registering those interested in discounts on the payment of toll fees.
The user who wants to benefit from discounts on tolls on the Costa do Sol, Zintava, Cumbeza and Matola-Gare, must register through the Internet page of REVIMO or go to the above-mentioned toll offices, starting January 20, 2022.
"This registration process will run without interruption as soon as it starts, and the citizen will be able to request the discount card at any time, even after the start of the fee collection," clarified Idila Abdul, saying that "REVIMO guarantees the discounts while the Maputo ring road is under our management.
Otherwise, than we published on Tuesday (18), the REVIMO press release explains that the driver who pays at the first toll will have a free pass at the next toll. This condition is valid only for a single direction of travel, so that on the way back you will always pay at the first toll.
