US government representative visits Mozambique with agenda that includes agrarian partnership

The Deputy Administrator of the United States of America (USA), Isabel Coleman, began a six-day visit to Mozambique on Thursday (25), with the main item on her agenda being to boost agricultural projects in the country, financed by the Washington government.

According to a press release distributed by the US Embassy in Maputo and quoted by Revista Terra, the leader will be in the country from January 25 to 30, and will visit the Central and Northern regions, where projects are underway as part of bilateral cooperation.

The aim of the visit is to "advance the US government's work to safeguard democratic principles, promote resilient communities, strengthen adaptive agricultural development and promote long-term stability in Mozambique," the statement said.

The note also highlights that she "will be visiting USAID partners in Gorongosa National Park, a  UN-Habitat project focused on resilient reconstruction I'm looking forward to working with you on Feed the Future's efforts to increase food security and with coastal communities to see USAID's investments in resilience and adaptation in vulnerable communities."
