Mozambican rapper Azagaia will be honored for the second time in the Portuguese capital, Lisbon. The event will take place tomorrow, Friday (28), at Casa Independente, in Lisbon.
According to a publication on the Independent HouseThe tribute to the Mozambican singer aims to immortalize his fight against social injustice.
"The singer and rapper Azagaia left us in March 2023, but his music and struggle are immortal! After the unforgettable tribute we hosted last year, Casa Independente will once again be the stage for a Tribute to Azagaia - Povo no Poder", reads the portal.
Under the slogan "Azagaia lives!", the event will feature performances by a number of artists, including Isabel Novella, Remna and Sam The Kid, with the proceeds going to Plataforma Makobo, a Mozambican non-governmental organization that aims to support disadvantaged children and people.
Azagaia died on March 9, 2023 at the age of 38 in circumstances that have yet to be clarified.
Baptized Edson da Luz, Azagaia was highly critical of politicians in power and became popular for his interpretation of social issues such as "the lies of truth".
