The authorities in Gaza province expect to receive more than 25,000 tourists, both domestic and foreign, for the Christmas and New Year festivities.

According to the provincial director of Culture and Tourism in Gaza, of these, 70% are national and the rest foreign, which represents an increase of 5% compared to last year's festive season.

Maria Emília Mapsuanganhe said that so far 85% of the more than 7600 beds available have been occupied. However, she is optimistic that all the beds will be occupied by the end of the year, judging by the intense movement of tourists arriving at various hotels in the province.

"All the conditions are in place to welcome with hospitality all the visitors who have chosen Gaza for the festive season of Christmas and New Year's Eve," said the source, quoted by Rádio Moçambique.

With a park of 300 tourist resorts, made up of more than 3,600 rooms, the tourism sector in Gaza expects to earn around 400 million meticais this holiday season.
