Nearly 60,000 people have crossed the border at Ressano Garcia, in Maputo province, since the launch of operation "Assanti Sana" on December 12.

Of this universe, more than 40,500 people entered the country and another 18,000 or so passed into neighboring South Africa.

Interior Minister Arsenia Massingue, who worked at that border post this Thursday, expressed concern about the lack of compliance with covid-19 prevention measures by the various stakeholders.

"It is serious, we have to strictly observe the measures, otherwise we will have a sad situation," said Interior Minister.
