PSG humiliate Barcelona at the Montjuic Olympic Stadium and are in the semi-finals of the Champions League

PSG humilha Barcelona em pleno Olímpico de Montjuic e está nas meias-finais da champions

The Champions League just won't let up! In another game full of drama, twists and turns and goals, PSG qualified for the semi-finals by beating Barcelona 4-1!

The first half went well for the home side. Playing in a sold-out Olimpico de Montjuic, with the atmosphere sweltering, PSG tried to 'row against the tide', but Barcelona, despite not having the ball as much, managed to control it. It was in the 13th minute that Yamal shone, when he outpaced Nuno Mendes and, with a pass, gave Raphinha the ball to make the stadium explode. The Brazilian's third goal gave Barça a two-goal lead and, despite giving their opponents the initiative, they were on top of the game.

All this was the story of the first half hour. Nuno Mendes didn't look his best in the first goal, but with a brilliant move, he isolated Barcola. Ronald Araújo had to take him down and was sent off. The fall of the Blaugrana began.

According to the newspaper The BallThe Parisian pressure increased and, in the 40th minute, the much-talked-about law of the ex was applied, with Dembelé equalizing the game. PSG went into the break one goal away from leveling the tie.

However, come the second half, Barcelona's tension was palpable. With one less and without the sacrificed Lamine, who made way for Iñigo Martínez, Paris Saint-Germain's growth was visible, but it was difficult to get to the goal. And if it's hard to get close to goal, it's better to do it from a distance: Vitinha's quality never ceases to amaze and, with a powerful shot from outside the area, the Portuguese midfielder leveled the tie at 54′.

That was the start of a devastating seven minutes for the home side: 2-1 down, Xavi sent off shortly afterwards and, close to the hour mark, João Cancelo fouled inside the area. Mbappé came on to give his team the lead in both legs for the first time all round.

That's how PSG had the game in hand in just a few minutes. Barcelona hit the post through Gundogan and Lewandowski could have done better on two occasions, but the visitors controlled the ball and even the chances - ter Stegen prevented a very lopsided result. After 90 minutes, Mbappé scored twice to seal the tie.

A night of spectacle that was undoubtedly marked by Araújo's dismissal. The idea remains that, even if Barcola - who put in another fine display, as he did in the minutes he had in the first game - had scored, Barcelona could have scored 11 to 11. Still, much credit to PSG, who went to Catalonia with the intention of turning things around and, with individual and collective quality, took their chances. Paris Saint-Germain are through to the semi-finals of the Champions League, where they will face Borussia Dortmund.
