SUSTENTA Project benefits 52 emerging farmers in Manica

More than 50 emerging small commercial farmers (PACEs) in Manica will benefit from SUSTENTA funding, for the implementation phase in the 2021/ 2022 agricultural campaign.

The fact was revealed this Monday by the Secretary of State in this province, Edson Macuácua, as part of the launching of the application process for access to SUSTENTA 2021/2022 funds.

Five thousand two hundred small farmers in the districts of Barue, Gondola, Macossa, Guro, Sussundenga, Mussurize, Manica, and Vanduzi will also benefit from the SUSTENTA technological packages in Manica.

Edson Macuacua assured that the application process will take place in a transparent and inclusive manner, hence he encourages emerging small commercial farmers to express interest in funding.

For the current edition SUSTENTA includes in Manica the implementation of a fruit processing plant to be installed in the city of Chimoio.

According to Edson Macuácua, the industry comes to solve the problem of fruit waste that the province had been registering for lack of conditions for its processing.

For the 2021/2022 season Manica province will benefit through SUSUTENTA from technology packages for sesame, maize, beans and Soybeans.
