Project for women launched at BCI

Projecto em prol da mulher lançado no BCI

On Tuesday (25), the BCI Auditorium hosted the launch ceremony for the "Strong Woman" project, an initiative by coach and human resources professional Palmira Mucavele.

Supported by the Bank, the initiative aims to motivate, inspire and educate women in a social context of stigmatization, gender discrimination, social exclusion and domestic violence.

Ana Zara Fateally, Deputy Central Director of Private at the BCI, congratulated the mentor, "for this very inspiring initiative with which the BCI identifies, not only because it involves a segment to which we attach a lot of strategic importance, but also because of the purposes that guide this programme, in particular the theme of women's empowerment, namely through education and motivation for personal and professional life, technical instruction and socialization, themes to which the BCI has also devoted a great deal of special attention".

Ana Zara said that the BCI's support for this project was not an isolated act: "we are constantly concerned with promoting women in particular, improving their competitiveness and providing them with the right conditions to carry out their professional duties," she said.

For her part, Palmira Mucavele said that over the years she has come to experience the importance of a human being in social relationships. And she came to a conclusion: "All people need each other, so I'm always guided by the principle that 'people need people'."

The BCI has hosted a number of similar initiatives with the aim of debating the issue of women and recognizing the importance of their role in Mozambique's social and economic development. The institution's portfolio includes the BCI Women Entrepreneurs Program, which initiated and prioritized training in management techniques, with the aim of increasing the capacities and skills of women entrepreneurs, making them more efficient in their work and facilitating their access to the financial instruments available in the business world.
