Piloto moçambicano alcança pódio na categoria júnior

Mozambican driver Rodrigo Almeida came 8th in the first race at Zandvoort, in the Netherlands, in the second round of the DTM ADAC GT4 championship.

The performance of the driver and his colleague Joseph Knopp, who started from position 18 in the race on June 23, earned them third place in the junior category of the competition.

The duo, who finished 12th in the race on Sunday, June 25, now have 15 points, increasing their chances of reaching the top spots at the end of the championship.

"It's always very important in every race to get points for the championship so I think it was a very positive weekend," said Rodrigo Almeida, highlighting the fact that his team was able to exploit the speed more. "We're well on the way to the next race," he said.

After Zandvoort, Rodrigo Almeida is already in Belgium to take part in the support race for the mythical 24h de SPA Francochamps, one of the biggest GT car races in the world of motorsport, with a grid of around 60 cars in the GT4 category alone. The race takes place on Friday, June 30, with race 1, and on Saturday race 2.

After a summer break, the Mozambican international will resume racing at the Nurburgring from August 4 to 6, a circuit that has hosted F1 races in the past. He will then take part in races in Lausitz (August 18-20); Sachsen (September 8-10); Spielberg (September 22-24) and Hockenheim (October 20-22).
