The Mozambican fintech, PayTech, SA, which specializes in developing web and mobile solutions for digital payments, was first listed on the Mozambique Stock Exchange (BVM) on October 18, 2021.
According to BVM, one hundred thousand ordinary, nominative and book-entry shares, each with a nominal value of one metical, representing 100% of PayTech, SA's capital, were admitted to the stock exchange.
PayTech was born from the challenge posed to two young Mozambicans by entrepreneur Amade Camal, from SIR MOTORS. He challenged them to create a ticketing system to digitalize the process of purchasing tickets and access to public transport of MetroBus.
Its goal is to facilitate commercial transactions (payments) through the development of specific applications, as well as to contribute to digital literacy.
PayTech SA currently provides its services to clients in Maputo, but has ambitions to reach the remaining Mozambican provinces and other PALOP countries.
BVM's Third Stock Market was launched in 2019 to serve as an incubator for companies, where they have two years of preparation to transition to the Official Listed Market and the Second Market. And for this it has the support of state and private institutions.
