Gorongosa National Park exported eight tons of coffee in the first quarter of this year to the United States, England and Portugal. It is one of the large shipments, which demonstrates the insertion of the product in the international market.
This is happening at a time when the Gorongosa National Park's coffee production project is growing.
In two years, the number of families involved in the initiative went from three hundred to eight hundred, and the cultivation area tripled, to 200 hectares.
Gorongosa coffee has been highly appreciated within the country and abroad because of its specific characteristics.
The coffee production project in the Gorongosa Mountains began in 2017 and is part of a strategy aimed at protecting biodiversity and promoting local socio-economic development.
