Cooperation partners guarantee support for development projects in Mozambique

A group of international institutions guaranteed Mozambique financial support for development projects on Monday (10)..

The commitment was made in Maputo by representatives of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the World Bank, the African Development Bank (AfDB) and the United Nations (UN), during a courtesy meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Maria Manuela dos Santos Lucas.

The representatives of these financial institutions pledged to continue providing financial support to the Mozambican government and to implement projects in the country in the areas of agriculture, infrastructure, health, education and governance.

On the occasion, the UN Resident Coordinator and Humanitarian Coordinator in Mozambique, Catharine Sozi, reiterated that the organization she represents will continue to emphasize the country's development.

"We reiterated the UN's willingness to continue supporting Mozambique on its sustainable development journey, through the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework-Mozambique (UNSDCF 2022-2026), a document developed jointly by the Government and the 25 UN agencies, funds and programs working in Mozambique, with a special focus on the populations most affected by the conflict in the north and natural disasters, as well as the most vulnerable women and children," added Catharine Sozi.
