The country spends USD 2 million a year on accrediting products and services

País gasta USD2 milhões, por ano, na acreditação de produtos e serviços

The director-general of the National Institute for Standardization and Quality said today that the country spends around two million dollars a year on accrediting products and services with bodies in South Africa, SADC and Portugal.

The information was given yesterday in Maputo, during the seminar to launch the project to draw up a Business Plan for the Creation of Mozambique's National Accreditation Body.

The initiative aims to ensure that Mozambican products and services meet international quality standards, promoting confidence among consumers, companies and investors.

Quoted by Radio Mozambique, Geraldo Albasini said that with the establishment of the body, Mozambique will reduce accreditation costs.

The source assured that Mozambique's National Accreditation Organization will be created within two years.
