The president of Renamo, Ossufo Momade, argues that the Assembly of the Republic should carry out a rigorous review of electoral legislation in order to eliminate all the issues that condition the credibility and transparency of the process.

Speaking yesterday (14), at the opening of the VI Ordinary Session of the Renamo National Council, in Maputo city, an event whose agenda included, among other things, the preparation for the general elections and the organization of the formation's VII congress, the Renamo leader urged that in order to strengthen the country's achievements in terms of democracy and political stability, it is important for Parliament to carefully review the regulations governing the electoral process.

"We want to launch a vigorous appeal to the Assembly of the Republic, which is in the process of revising the electoral legislation, to remove all the obstacles that hinder the transparency and credibility of the elections, in order to contribute to a healthier political-electoral environment," said the president of Renamo, quoted by the newspaper Newswithout, however, specifying the barriers to which he referred.
