The biggest sale ever in the US residential market could be coming soon. Located in Los Angeles, the mansion called 'The One' will be up for sale in an online auction for 261 million euros between February 7 and 10.
In statements to "CNN", quoted by the Portuguese newspaper Ecnómico, Aaron Kirman, whose real estate group is selling the property together with the developer Williams & Williams, classified this project as "the Mona Lisa of the residential world".
It is a mansion that took nearly 10 years to build and has an area of 9,700 m2, (twice that of the White House), fitting a movie theater, a bowling alley, and a 360-degree view of the Pacific Ocean. Other amenities include a pool that extends along three sides of the mansion, 42 bathrooms, and 21 bedrooms, with the master suite being more than twice the size of the average room in the United States.
On the third floor there is also an indoor swimming pool, a gym, hair salon and bar. The garage has a capacity for 30 cars and outside there is also an athletics track.
About the reasons why this mansion is being put up for auction, Aaron Kirman, explains that "any house that is worth more than $100 million can take between one and five years to sell" and that is why the auction was the way found to make the sale happen.
This project was the brainchild of US producer Nile Niami, who in early 2000 hired architect Paul McLean, responsible for building residences for famous people like Beyoncé or Calvin Klein, to "design the most expensive house in the urban world.
With all these luxuries, Aaron Kirman has no doubts: "You have to be a multimillionaire to buy this property", betting that the buyer will certainly be a foreigner or someone connected to the world of technology or banking investments.
