Mozambique could grow at 5% this year, up from 2.8 % recorded last year, and above the best average (4%) recorded between 2015 and 2019.
The information is contained in the report by the Financial Reporting Agency, FITCH, which MZNews had access to.
The agency cites the lifting of social distancing measures, the increase in private consumption, and the stable security environment, which is conducive to stronger investments, as the main causes for the forecasted economic growth in the country.
The report also states that the production of liquefied natural gas will drive rapid growth in exports, making Mozambique an exporter of this product for the first time in the second half of this year, when ENI's Coral SUL project begins production.
